The editors of Financial Management (FM), the flagship journal of FMA International, will be apprised by the conference program committee of papers that the committee assesses to be of particularly high-quality. In select cases, the editors will “lightly solicit” papers for submission to FM by offering fast-turnaround, high-quality reviews, waived initial submission fees, and enhanced marketing of papers that are eventually accepted through this submission route. Referees for “lightly-solicited” papers will be made aware that the paper was invited for submission by the editors. While these invitations do not promise eventual publication of papers in FM, the invitations are only offered to a small number of papers each year that the respective FMA conference program committees identify as likeliest to clear the bar for publication in FM without major revisions.

Conference Program featuring Keynote Speaker
Hanno Lustig
The Mizuho Financial Group Professor of Finance
Senior Fellow, Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research
Winnick Family Faculty Fellow for 2024–2025
Hanno Lustig has worked at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance. Recently, his research has focused on understanding the forces that determine exchange rates in currency markets. His research has shown how currencies have different risk characteristics that are determined by a country’s role in the global economy. These risk characteristics help to understand the behavior of exchange rates. In addition, Lustig has explored the impact of government guarantees on the pricing of tail risk borne by large financial institutions. More recently, Lustig has also worked on understanding the determinants of a firm’s volatility (volatility of sales, cash flows, stock returns etc).
Doctoral Student Consortium on Wednesday, 11 June 2025
The Doctoral Student Consortium includes a panel session with distinguished scholars discussing the latest advances in research and offering career advice. The afternoon breakout sessions give participants the opportunity to present job market papers or dissertation proposals and receive feedback from the faculty and panelists. Accepted participants receive complimentary conference registration.
The application deadline is 7 March 2025. Click here to apply.

Important Information on Travel to Cyprus - ETIAS Travel Authorization
Starting in the first half of 2025, people from over 60 visa-exempt countries are required to have a travel authorisation to enter 30 European countries for a short stay. A ETIAS travel authorisation is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of these 30 European countries. It is linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorisation.
With a valid ETIAS travel authorisation, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays - normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. However, it does not guarantee entry. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport and other documents and verify that you meet the entry conditions.
