michelleMichelle Lui, Executive Director

Michelle is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization, as well as overseeing its financial, program, and administrative objectives. Prior to joining the FMA, she served as the Assistant Director of the Center for Financial Policy (CFP) at the University of Maryland College Park. There, she coordinated the Center’s operations, marketing, and logistics for all Center programs including conferences, roundtables, speaker series events, and a project-based practicum for MBA and MS Finance students. She currently serves as a Special Affiliate for the CFP and on the Board of Regents of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA®).

lisaLisa Bryan, Marketing, Communication and Membership Manager

Prior to joining FMA in 2015, Lisa managed the email marketing strategy and production schedules for collateral promoting events, trainings and publications at the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). Prior to ISPE, she managed the operations and marketing of six programs for the American Society of Nephrology Foundation for Kidney Research. Lisa received an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and a master's degree from New York University. In her free time, she enjoys trying new local restaurants, yoga and traveling.

lindaLinda Grimm, Administrative and Membership Manager

Linda has worked for FMA since 1989, and currently works with professional memberships, placement services, library subscriptions and the association's financials. Outside of work, she is her youngest son's biggest race fan and enjoys camping with her husband.

mattMatt Staton, Managing Editor

Matt joined the FMA staff as a student assistant in 2009 and became the Managing Editor in 2010. His duties include the publications of FMA's flagship journal, Financial Management, and the production of the FMA Video Series. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of South Florida and moved to Tampa permanently in 2005. Most weekends, Matt enjoys relaxing while watching sports, especially his alma mater's Bulls.

shannonShannon Tompkins, Director of Student Programs

Shannon has worked with FMA as Director of Student Programs since 2003. She also coordinates the Asia/Pacific Conference and the regional Doctoral Student Consortia. Shannon has a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of South Florida. Outside of FMA, Shannon is extremely involved with The Junior League of Tampa and volunteering in the community. In her free time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband, Ray, and their young son, working out at the gym, traveling and reading.

karenKaren Wright, Special Events Coordinator

Karen joined FMA in 1986 as a general office assistant and now serves as the Special Events Coordinator, with direct and indirect responsibilities for the association's conference portfolio. Throughout her career with FMA, she has been actively involved in many facets of the association's activities, including serving as the Director of Student Programs, Managing Editor of Financial Practice and Education, and database creation. A native New Yorker, she moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida and found herself 'back home' when she started with FMA. In her spare time, she enjoys de-stressing with her husband and two furry-footed children. And yes, on Sundays, she can usually be found watching her Steelers!
