FMA International is pleased to announce its 2022 European Conference in partnership with emlyon business school in Lyon, France will be held in-person on 11 - 13 July 2022. The conference brings together academics and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making and provides a forum for presenting new research and discussing current issues in financial management and related topics.

The Conference will conclude on the eve of Bastille Day. We invite you to stay in the city for the festivities!

Renée Adams 

University of Oxford, ECGI, SFS, Asian Bureau of Finance & Economic Research, Foundations of Law and Finance Research Center at Goethe University, and CEPR

Dr. Renée Adams is a Professor of Finance at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford (2018 – present), Research Associate (2004 – present) and Fellow (2017 – present) at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), Council Member (2017 – present), and Chair (2021-present) of the Society for Financial Studies (SFS), Senior Fellow at the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research, Senior Fellow of the Foundations of Law and Finance Research Center at Goethe University, and member of CEPR.

Renée’s research highlights organizational design problems to which seemingly inefficient governance mechanisms are the solution and the role selection plays in understanding corporate leaders.

She has published extensively in finance and economic journals including Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Financial Economics, International Review of Finance, American Economic Review, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Economic Policy Review and Journal of Finance. She was awarded the Female Career Award from HEC Lausanne in 2019 and has received several Best Paper awards at leading finance conferences.

She is a former Department Editor at Management Science (until 2020), Special Issues Editor, Editorial Board Member and Associate Editor for a number of finance and economic journals and has served on the Program Committee, chaired and discussed papers on a number of finance conference programs, serves as an Ad-hoc reviewer, is an Ad-hoc grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, and is an external reviewer for promotion and tenure at a number of US, Canadian and European universities. She co-founded AFFECT, the women’s committee of the American Finance Association in 2015 and chaired it until 2020.


 Doctoral Student Consortium on Monday, 11 July 2022

The Doctoral Student Consortium, coordinated by Ivalina Kalcheva, Associate Professor of Finance, University of Texas at San Antonio, includes a panel session with distinguished scholars discussing the latest advances in research and offering career advice. The afternoon breakout sessions give participants the opportunity to present job market papers or dissertation proposals and receive feedback from the faculty and panelists. Accepted participants receive complimentary conference registration.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON TRAVELING TO FRANCE (as of 18 March 2022)

Travelers to France may be required to provide proof of complete vaccination for COVID-19 to enter the country, depending on the level of COVID-19 in their home country. 

France categorizes other countries as either "Green" or "Orange". There are different regulations and restrictions for entry to France from Green and Orange countries.

Since 1 February 2022, in order for their vaccination schedule to continue to be recognized as complete, persons aged 18 years or older wishing to enter French territory must have received a booster dose of messenger RNA vaccine no later than nine months after receiving the last mandatory dose.

We strongly suggest you consult the France Diplomatie website to determine your eligibility to enter France and the documentation required. The France Diplomatie website is available hereWe also suggest that you consult your home country's regulations to determine your eligibility to re-enter your country after the Conference.

Please note: The entry requirements for France may change at any time, so we strongly suggest that all travelers be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to traveling and carry their vaccination record with them.
